§ 22-78. Operation of used car lots.

The operation of used car lots within the corporate limits of the City of Westwego will be conducted as follows:

(1)

All persons or entities operating used car lots within the corporate limits of the City of Westwego may conduct the retail sale of motor vehicles in operating condition only. Any car in non-operating condition shall be considered a junked motor vehicle and shall not be sold or stored on a used car lot except in compliance with all other ordinances.

(2)

No mechanical work, body and fender repair, or painting will be allowed on the used car lots.

(3)

The continued practice of conducting the retail sale of non-operating motor vehicles or performance of mechanical work, body and fender repair, or painting shall be considered grounds for revocation of the business license of the dealership.

(4)

The provisions of this ordinance shall be applied to all used car lots operating within city limits.
