§ 10-45. Regulations for filling property, permits required; building retaining walls.

  • (a)

    It shall be necessary for any person, individual, entity or corporation desiring to fill land within the corporate limits of the city to secure a permit from the building official.

    (b)

    It shall be necessary for the building official to approve the type and grade of fill to be used in the filling of any land within the corporate limits of the city.

    (c)

    It shall be required that should the filling of the property affect the flow of water onto an adjoining property, the owner of the property being filled shall be required to install a concrete retaining wall on the perimeter of his property where it adjoins privately owned property, sufficient to prevent the flow of water onto that adjoining property.
