§ 8-92. Keeping of household pets in such a manner as to become obnoxious or detrimental to public health prohibited.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person keeping a household pet to permit the accumulation within 300 feet of any building occupied as a residence of such quantities of putrescible animal or vegetable matter, animal feces or urine as to become obnoxious and detrimental to public health. Such accumulation being productive of foul odors, flies and other insects shall be deemed a public nuisance and a violation of this section.

    (b)

    For the purpose of this section, the term "persons" means any person, firm, partnership, association or corporation. The term "pets" includes dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots and the like, but said enumeration shall not be deemed to be exclusive.
