§ 34-114. Naming of streets outside of subdivisions.

  • (a)

    Property owners or developers of property associated with new or unnamed streets or access easements may petition the city to name such streets. In some cases, an existing named street may be considered for renaming if it is deemed by the zoning commission that such renaming is necessary for efficient operation of the 911 system. The procedures and criteria in subsection (b) of this section shall be followed.

    (b)

    Applications by individuals or developers for naming or renaming of streets shall be made to the planning and zoning commission, and shall include the proposed street name and a vicinity location map. The proposed street name must be reviewed and approved by the zoning administrator based upon a public need for the renaming.
