§ 28-6. Appearance bond fee.

An appearance bond fee shall be collected by the clerk of court in the mayor's court for the city from any individual who has provided an appearance bond, including cash, commercial surety, personal surety, signature, or driver's license for any arrest for a violation of any city ordinance. This fee is to be in addition to any court cost, schedule bond, schedule fine or fine imposed by the magistrate of the city and may be deferred until the conclusion of verdict or plea. Upon acquittal of the defendant, this fee shall be refunded to the individual who has paid the fee. The amount of the appearance bond shall be as established by the city council from time to time.
