§ 26-228. Traffic safety fund.

  • The penalties, fines, and fees collected from the imposition of civil liability under this article shall be deposited into the city's traffic safety fund account administered by the chief of police. Funds deposited into this traffic safety fund shall be expended first for the costs of the system (payment to the vendor/operator of the system, public relations, and general implementation of the program). After satisfying this requirement, one-fourth shall be payable equally to each council district's discretionary fund, one-fourth shall be payable to the capital improvement fund for non-recurring expenses to be administered by the mayor; and one-half to the city police department discretionary fund for non-recurring expenses administered by the chief of police.
