§ 22-11. Same—Requirements and standards.

  • (a)

    All applications for an occupational license shall be made only on a form to be supplied by the city tax collector.

    (b)

    All parts of the occupational license form shall be completed by the applicant.

    (c)

    The failure of an applicant to supply any information requested on an occupational license application shall be cause for the denial of the license.

    (d)

    All revisions or changes to applications for an occupational license shall be approved as to form and content by the city council prior to being utilized by the tax collector.

    (e)

    No occupational license shall be granted until five working days, exclusive of weekends and holidays, have elapsed from the receipt of the application.

    (f)

    Any subsequent change in the nature or classification of a business from that designated on an occupational license shall require a new license.

    (g)

    The granting of an occupational license pursuant to subsection (f) of this section shall render void all previous licenses for the same business.

    (h)

    All grantees of occupational licenses shall have the continuing duty to update any and all information requested by the license application, including the dissolution, sale, transfer, or expiration of the business or occupation designated in the license.

    (i)

    The failure to update information as required by subsection (h) of this section within three months of the change in such information shall render the holder's license void, necessitating a new application for the continuation of the business or occupation.

    (j)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly falsify or misrepresent any information on an occupational license application.

    (k)

    The occupational license of any person found in violation of subsection (j) of this section shall be immediately revoked.

    (l)

    The denial or revocation of an occupational license as provided under authority of this section shall be made in writing to the license grantee.

    (m)

    The city clerk shall maintain and preserve all records relating to occupational licenses.
